This week I met four new needy people within 5 miles of my home. James, probably in his 70’s, said he was a military veteran in need of help. Please consider buying some canned goods, keeping them in your car, and handing them to the needy at intersections.
As I was filing up my car at Brodie and William Cannon, I saw a mid-20’s man and his dog pacing the median. I walked across the gas station parking lot and called out to him that I had food for them both. After setting the food down, I purchased a can of Coke from the store inside the gas station. When I walked out he had retrieved the food and had dumped the dog food on the sidewalk so the dog could eat. Handing him the Coke, he smiled and said, ‘Thank you.” We introduced ourselves and I met Buster. Two minutes and about $2.50.
